Do you remodel bathrooms?

No, we’re sorry, we no longer do bathrooms. If you are looking for a bathroom remodeling company, try the Washingtonian’s website.

I need a new countertop. Would your company do this for me?
Cameo Kitchens only takes on total remodeling projects that include replacing all of the kitchen cabinets.  If you are looking for countertops only, please check to our resources page for companies we recommend. At this time, we are unable to take on any partial jobs.

How do I decide which company to contract with for kitchen remodeling?

Good question! Click here to read Suggestions for Purchasing a Kitchen, which will guide you in what to look for in a remodeling company.

Why is there a fee for estimates?

It takes at least 10-12 hours for our designers to measure a kitchen, design it, and meet with the customer to present the design.  This, combined with the rate our business is growing, make it imperative for us to charge a fee for estimates.  Charging a fee makes it possible for our designers to spend considerably more time with those who are serious.
Our fee for estimates is $250, a small sum when compared to the time the designer has spent working on your kitchen.

What do I get for $250?
The $250 estimate fee is a deposit that covers the first 10-12 hours your designer will spend meeting with you, measuring, designing, drawing and pricing your kitchen.  When the plans are ready, the designer will meet with you again to present them.  At this time, they will give you a pricing proposal that is itemized so that you can see the exact price for countertops, cabinets, lighting, installation, etc.
The $250 estimate fee is due at the time of your first meeting with your designer.  It will be credited to your contract when your order is placed.

If I bring in the dimensions of my kitchen, can you give me a ballpark estimate of how much my kitchen will cost?
Since all of the kitchens that Cameo Kitchens remodels are custom-made for each customer and home, there is no accurate way to give a “ballpark” estimate for our kitchen by using approximate room dimensions.
Many variables, such as type of wood, door style, and design, can influence the price of a kitchen.  Our designers measure every kitchen themselves, incorporate customers’ ideas into the design, and give customers an exact price on their kitchen project.  If you are not sure about specifics, we can price out different options to show you how much each will add or subtract from the sale price.
More importantly, we are unable to give a valid estimate without knowing any of the details concerning the installation of the kitchen.

I think I would like an estimate from Cameo Kitchens, but I’m not ready to pay the estimate fee.  What can I do?
Give us a call, email us, or stop by our showroom. The estimate fee is required before a designer can schedule an appointment, but our office staff will be happy to give you a general overview of our company and give you a list of recent references to contact in your area. Speaking with past customers is the best way to find out about the reliability of a company.

Can I visit the showroom without making an appointment?
Yes, you are welcome to stop by any time we are open.  A member of our staff will gladly assist you in learning more about our company, the cabinets and the materials we use. Please keep in mind that our designers keep their own schedules, so they are not generally available for consultation without an appointment.

How do your cabinets compare with other brand-name cabinets?
Honey Brook Custom Cabinets makes some of the highest-quality, custom cabinets available. In addition to their standard styles, stains and paints, they can create custom door styles and colors to your preference.

 Do you carry frameless cabinets?
No. It is our feeling that frameless cabinets are inferior to framed cabinets.  Frameless cabinets usually constitute the lower end of the spectrum as far as cabinet quality because the frame provides stability. Modern styles can be achieved with a framed cabinet.

Will you sell me the plans for my kitchen?
No, we do not sell our plans.  Our intention is to design the kitchen, provide the cabinets, and install them.

Why is there such a long wait?
Cameo Kitchens’ success is owed to the hard work of very few people. Most of our business is done through word-of-mouth, which says something about the quality of our company.
We are currently installing 2-3 kitchens per week, every week of the year.  Unfortunately, there have been times when we have installations scheduled more than 6 months in advance.  We believe that all of our kitchens need our full attention.  We will not take on an excess of work in order to improve our sales.  We’re expanding slowly and carefully so that we can continue to keep the quality of our work at the highest level.
Please understand that any backlog for installations is a testament to the reputation of our company.

How long will the installation take?
            Usually 2 ½ - 4 ½ weeks.

How does the installation work if I am having a wood floor installed?
We will need to remove your old kitchen approximately 1 week before your cabinets are delivered.  The flooring company usually lays the floor during this period, and comes back to finish the floor after the kitchen is completed.  The coordination of the wood flooring installation is the responsibility of the purchaser; however, please provide us with the name and phone number of your flooring company so that we can confirm the installation dates and communicate if needed.

When do I need to have my selections made by?
Every Cameo Kitchens contract states:

Purchaser understands that due to processing time both at Cameo Kitchens, Inc. and at Honey Brook Custom Cabinets, all appliance, floor, tile and countertop selections must be turned in  within 60 days of the contract signing.  Selections not made in a timely fashion can mean that the installation date can slip to the next open date on our work calendar.

Having your selections made on time can make your kitchen’s installation go as quickly and efficiently as possible.  When selections are made far in advance, there is usually time to spare if appliances and tile are backordered, or if there are any other problems.

Can you give me a timeline for my installation so I know what will happen every day?
Since the timeline for a kitchen remodel depends on so many factors (floor choice, sink placement, etc.), we are not able to give you a detailed schedule for your project.  However, we will make every effort to keep you informed of our plans during your remodel. Make sure to give your designer as much contact information (cell phone, email) as possible.

What happens if I can’t find tile at Mosaic Tile or Best Tile?
We have had a working relationship with Mosaic Tile and Best Tile for years. We know how they operate. They know how we operate. We know that they carry quality tile.  We want you to select tile from Mosaic and Best because we can rely on them.
Mosaic and Best have a great selection of tile, and most of our customers are able to find something that they like within their stores.  If you absolutely cannot find tile that you like at either store, we will be happy to take the tile installation out of our contract and give you a refund for the tile.
